Mum + Entrepreneur = Mumpreneur

Educator & life long learner, embracing French living

My most important role has been as a mum to my 2 children. Every day they have inspired me to love, learn and grow.

Like everyone, life's experiences the  ups and downs have been the stepping stones to where I am today. I enjoy change, new product development and the energy that comes at the beginning of new projects.

I firmly believe in visualising goals and planning the steps to get there whether that is in one's personal or professional life.

Here's a summary of what the last 30 years have included:

As a parent and CEO to a company that has worked directly with over 7,000 children I have built up a lot of experience in education, growth and development.  I have loved helping everyone else's child flourish but I know that in my heart the fact that my own businesses have nourished my own children, is gold.

All my work and career experiences in many different domains have brought me learnings and connections that I use on a day to day basis.

Being CEO and captain of one's own journey ticks my work nomad box in a big way. For the most part,  I can decide when and on what I want to work. I can get involved in passion projects, community endeavors, travel and learn.

2023 has new goals and projects in store including a book. Watch this space ;-)

Projects

Here is a selection of the projects we are working on...

I have a passion for setting  small businesses that will help my family...either with a service that we can also enjoy or a way for us to get connected to our community.

When our son was born I co-founded an AuPair agency so that when I returned to work as an I.T. Operations Leader for a Fortune500, I could go part time and work from home with our own French Au Pair.

We then bought, set up and managed an apartment rental in Nice (before Air BnB existed!) so we could visit family and get familiar with French life.

When we permanently relocated I set up various businesses that allowed me to be a full time mum and have a career.

These businesses now employ over 20 people allowing them to live their own life dreams too.

English Language Schools
Interactive Education

Founded in 2007, KidooLand nicknamed "The Little English School" has helped over 7,000 families on their English journey.

Our team are a unique blend of creative, positive and growth mindset leaders who work together to build neuro friendly programmes that students love.  Our pedagogy draws from the best educational policies worldwide such as Montessori, PBL.

Through Baby clubs, Playgroups, weekly lessons, holiday camps our team deliver interactive in person lessons to children and adults in Vallauris Sophia Antipolis and Villeneuve Loubet.

South of France Podcast
Listen and be interviewed

Launched in 2016, the Firefly podcast was a response to a tragedy that rocked France. Our initial and ongoing purpose was to put tourism and the South of France back on the map.

Over time our series have evolved interviewing local entrepreneurs and superstars and providing listeners with essential tips on how to visit and relocate to the South of France.

Available on all platforms like Apple Itunes, Spotify, Google and direct on our website.

We would love to hear from you if you would like to be a guest on the Riviera Firefly podcast.

It's completely free ;-)

Community FB Group
Join us it's free

Created in 2010, our free to join Facebook community group " Côte d'Azur Living" has grown to over 12,6k members.

In 2022 we had nearly 40,000 interactions in our supportive and resourceful membership club.

Moderated by volunteers this is our way of helping the International and French community to connect. We focus our spotlight on what an  amazing place the Côte d'Azur is to live and visit as a tourist.

2023 sees the return of in person events, workshops and   connection locally.

Riviera Business Club
Board Member

In 2022, Antonia was asked to join the Board of the Riviera Business Club as the Membership Secretary.

Since then she has been part of the RBC team helping redefine the Purpose and goals of this regenerated business club.

Having worked with Business Coaches for nearly a decade, been herself a member on Masterminds and hosted her own supportive masterminds for AutoEntrepreneurs in the region, she is really enjoying being a volunteer on the board.

The RBC is an English speaking group for Entrepreneurs linked with the Chamber of Commerce (CCI Nice). Inperson and online workshops, events and afterworks make this THE community to be part of for all International business leaders in the South of  France.

LinkedIn profile
Let's Connect

I'd love to connect with other like minded entrepreneurs here on the French Riviera.

It can be challenging moving to a new country, running a business in a foreign language, integrating into the commercial community.

I find watching and listening other entrepreneurs inspiring and one of my favourite things to do is to connect people when I see some synergy.

Donegal Cottage
Family holidays Ireland

Back in the 1950s my Grandfather had a new cottage built for my Great Aunt and her family.

Set high on the hills with spectacular views this is truly an escape from it all, back to basics retreat.

With country walks, cows in neighbouring fields, several beaches within 20 minutes and a host of local eateries and craft shops to explore this is the Enid Blighton holiday your children need to have.

All the uncles, aunts and cousins now keep a loving eye on Josie's cottage and share her with other family travelers so they too can enjoy the Emerald Isle.
